Construction Sequence
Construction will begin in October of 2008 with clearing of brush from the right of way and installation of features that are called ‘Best Management Practices’ to control erosion and sedimentation from construction work. Traffic control and safety signs will also be installed.
Utility companies will be working to move phone, power, water and oil lines from the construction area. This work may involve temporary lane closures.
Then, construction of a paved detour on Airport Road at Alkali Creek Road will begin. Along with construction of the detour, the two box culverts and a storm drain pipe will be installed at this interchange.
We plan to go into a winter shutdown sometime in December, depending upon the weather.
